The PreMatch Buildup..

After the pale saturdy last week when the soo called Big guns didn't fire with santosha's side sweeping 2-0... the build up to the coming weekend started.

The attraction for the coming weekend cricket is that Majid should be back in action.. Batsmen in the Kengu camp r happy with this statement.. Subbu coming from mUmbai this weekend.
and our married PJ might show up...

There was a big debate about PJ getting retired from the competitive cricket once getting married. PJ has commented on the media that he will be back in action with the coming weekend.. So lets hope to see Uncle PJ on the field.

Binary karthik who was spent couple of weeks in the english county championship to getback the binary jinx in the weekend league might be back. But depends on his mental and physical fitness..

So all these will be leading to a fascinating battle on the ground between the two teams.. Saturday would be worth money for the spectators..

Match fixing in the Saturday cricket!!!!!!!!......... Our spys have got the telephonic conversation between two players.. below goes the text.. The names have been masked for the security reasons... BCCI might appoint the CBI to investigate for these kind of transactions.. happeing in the weekend cricket league..

Basha's HT (Heavy Tale)

It was one of the saturday which i missed to be on fields..
The story form the correspondent Sreesha..

BTW There was a heavy pressure on me to give hype to the one of the players performance. I was even threatened if i donot ...! I belive in putting the things as it is rather than favoring some one... who is not worth
So i decided to put every thing unedited from the script in the field on Saturday..

One more absentee was Kengu... (had been to B??K in Davengare.. was it banne dose..??)

it was a cloudy morning and as usual only few people were there exactly at 7 30....as expected few people came later and with only 11 we started playing with 5 on one side and 6 on the other....we couldnot see a joker 's face hahaah.... we thought 8 overs was sufficient to bowl out 5/6 men..and started...the great player of VTU Mr bhasha and santosha were the captains...and you could expect the team balance as bhasha was one of the captains... yes me,santosh, lodde and robertson(majid) and sandeep, rampaand bhasha, rudra,aditya,santosh(SAP) and shreesha2(my frend)...were the two team members...in first match we did not decide to field first even the conditions were gud to do so...and greedily opted to bat.....sadya bapat irlilla.... we hit like any thing and scored 55 even if the ball was not that energetic...and basha and co were bowled out for nearly 30....(sorry forgotten exact score)after that there was a big serious discussion to change the team... when all the guys were saying yes....our baadshaah refused to do so....and at last we continued with the same configuration..... haa we changed that tusky baall....and this time we lost the toss and started bowling...with 2nd line bowlers(sorry irregular ones i must say) taking the initiative..... its ramaprasad(rampa) and majid who bowled for first 6 overs and basha and co poorly got out for just 14..... it was not at all a magic of majid or googlies of rampa but the bad performance thats it.....and its me and lodde ( last match nalli lastige batting ge bandoru) who started the game....and beda beda andru battinda run hOgE bidtu and we reached our destiny in just 9 baalls...i was very much dissatisfied as i could face only 4 balls...chaTa teerlE illa... then some guys wanted to go home and many wanted to play...as there were less geddes we decided to play and this time basha has to agree for a change in team....with a valueable player "SHREESHA" being exchanged...we (basha's team now) won the toss and went to bat..... calmly we started playing just ball --to-- ball and nobody from the opponent side could stop us....majid challenged me earlier of the day to play for an entire innings and luckily i did it and we scored 59.........even with this mammoth score our captain again showed his talent and gave opening spell to santosh(SAP) and next to aditya(i think) and they were 17 at the end of 2nd over.... then again basha, rudra and me bowled and managed to bring them to 41 at the end of 6th over... and it's basha who boewled well and the last over target was 16/6 balls... and at the end i bowled and we won by 12 runs i suppose...... this was a different weekend as many main players did not turn up but rare faces(rampa) and stomachs(i must say it for lodde atleast) did shine....but our world's local hero robertson from australia could not shine much as his regular predates (kengu, bapat..as he says) were absent.... another surprise was that sanjay did not come even after confirming...its a rare event too...as usual after finishing all silli jagaLa...TU's and masti...we were back to our gooDu .....

Main highlits for the 1st match was the unorhtodox shots from rudra..

Majid's heroics

Majid back in the ground after missing in action last week. Many people had missed Majids off spin last week including me .

It was pretty much clear that there is going to be full attendance this saturday for cricket, the on going email chain was a clear indication

Something to be noticed this week was Sanjay, who had recently shifted to BTM layout didn't wanted to miss the saturday action. He had come all the way from BTM Layout.
Another thing which i would like to mention here is Basha.. who had come after the full 7 course meal on dwadashi after the fasting on Ekadashi. Even though basha came after the match started off.. his interest to play cricket was something to be admired.

The teams were split on the usual ways... Santosha, Pavan, Majid.... V/s Kengu, me Sreesha and basha........

It was overcast this morning and hence, i inspired kengu to field first after winning the toss. Batting first santosh's team scoring 73 of the 10 overs. Santosh's and majid's contribution was significant. Majid had a trap set on the leg side but managed to escape with his pull of me to the boundary and a drop catch in the legside boundary.

Chasing mammoth 73 in 10 overs Kengu and co collapsed to 45+ with majid displaying a splendid
so called off spin bowling. The wind factor and the pitch which had soo much to offer helped to get 4 wickets. Majid getting me out for a ball which rolled.. then Basha playing a fulltoss to the fielder in the deepmid wicket boundary.. kengu getting out made Majid to celebrate..
Majid was even seen dancing the KaAt steps in the pitch.. Sreesha being the umpire forgot to warn Majid not to step in the danger area. Majid was on hatrick after getting me and basha out in the consecutive deliveries. Kengu was also out as the hatrick but prafulla dropped a sitter giving kengu chance.

Majid became the hero of the first match with total contribution form bat and ball. Majid had cautioned me to write the blog with a neutral view point and hence i am putting the title as Majid's heroics.. (you guys will have to comment is it really majid's heroics or the wind factor which made Majid a hero).

After a small dirinks break the second match started with kengu again winning the toss. This time straight opting to bat without any other thought. Basha had the bitter thoughts of last match getting out for the first ball of majid. The superhero (KRISSH??) majid was seen in action very second over. Basha on strike..

First ball (no ball) ball out side the ground for six. (we had to spend 10 minutes to search the ball)
Second ball (short out side the leg stump) Smashed away for boundary...
Majid was back in form conceding 10 runs of 2 balls. Basha was seen in the full mood.
Third ball full toss Basha could not do much .. held out in the deep ..
Majid's KAat dance back in action..
Majid again taking 3 wickets in the second match and restricting kengu's to merely 54..

With the tight bowling by basha, me, kengu and sreesha.. majid and co could not do much.. loosing the match with 8 runs. In the end it was 1-1 a series drawn...

Intersting Incidents.

1> Adithya getting out when is cap fell down on the wicket ruling himself out as hitwicket..!
Incidently there was one more incident in the history of the international cricket where a player got himself out like adithya...

2>Majid scoring 10 run's of the last ball.. Bowler adithya agian in limelite..
1st ball is no ball scored for six.. next ball is scored 4...

Kengu's Dayout

Saturday 01July was a dull saturday as there was not much people in the ground.
Only 11 people in the ground was little disappointing. The new faces today at the ground were RamaPrasad (KSS Hostel Junior) and Kengu's Macha Suhas.

The cricket started little late with Kengu and Santosha distributing the people amongst them selves.

Kengu,me Subbu, Lodde, Rampa and Suhas in one side with Santosha, Pavan, Adi, Sandeepa, Sanjay in the opposite team. Kengu lost the toss and our team had the chance of first use of the moist pitch.

The binary Pavan made a good attempt with few sixers and boundaries to make a good total on the board. 47 runs scored in 8 overs. Kengus team started off with Suhas and Rampa. Suhas got out in the first ball. Me came in as the one down made the game going. It was kengu who joined me after subbu's dismissal who made the diffrence. Cracking six over the bowlers head, text book square cut and a loft over the covers helped kengu's team to get 48 even before the 7th over.

Second match started off with kengu winning the toss and electing to bat. With 6 runs on the board, lodde, me, subbu, Suhas were back in pavilion. Kengu along with Rampa made the difference. Kengu score some cracking shots in the off side to get a team total of 46.

Santosha and team chasign the 47 started off well with santosha scoring a boundary over the long on but the tempo was cut with santosha holding out in the deepcover to kengu in my bowling. Rest of the team were not able to get near the target. Team fell short by 13 runs.

A total day dominated by kengu. I guess kengu had to prove in front of his MACHAA...
